Reference Texts

Kandel, Schwartz & Jessell (KSJ). Principles of Neural Science, 4th edition - a very comprehensive Neuroscience textbook, however, it has not been updated in almost 8 years and is not used as the primary text

Haines. Fundamental Neuroscience for Basic and Clinical Applications, 3rd edition

Zigmond, Bloom, Landis, Roberts & Squire. Fundamental Neuroscience

Purves, Augustine, Fitzpatrick, Katz, LaMantia, McNamara & Williams, Neuroscience, 4th edition - this edition is the most recent Neuroscience reference text. It is highly recommended to purchase a copy as the primary readings are drawn from this book

Anatomy Texts

Woolsey, Hanaway & Gado. The Brain Atlas, 3rd edition - An excellent, up-to-date atlas with additional discussions and diagrams of systems and pathways. Make sure you get a copy for yourself as it is used extensively throughout the course and is one of the best human brain anatomy texts

DeArmond, Dewey & Fusco. Structure of the Human Brain - A very good photographic atlas

Haines. Neuroanatomy, 6th edition

Heimer, The Human Brain and Spinal Cord - A good neuroanatomy text
