Buffalo River, AR

Over Memorial Day weekend, I took a trip along with friends (Liz, Leo and Andrew) to the Buffalo River in western Arkansas. Here's our put-in at a place called Woolum.
And they're off! The weather was mostly overcast our first day out. All the recent rain made for fast current and lush greenery.
All smiles at the start of the trip. Shortly after this picture was taken, Liz and I capsized our canoe, which required five people to lift out of the current. A (very wet) lesson learned.
One of the notable features of this old, old river are the massive bluffs at many of the river's bends.

Hey, stop admiring the scenery and keep your eyes on the road...er, river!
